We at Paras Dental Care, Implant and Orthodontic centre aim to preserve each and every natural teeth as far as possible. However, extensively damaged or badly decayed teeth may need to be removed/ extracted. Case of the day: A patient of 30 years came to us with a chief complaint of pain and desires removal of affected teeth. On clinical examination root stumps of 36 were present and 37 38 were grossly decayed. We explained her the importance of preservation of teeth as she was poor and she refused Root canal treatment or Post and core. After complete medical and dental history taken from patient we extracted all the affected tooth in single visit. Prevention is always better than cure. The risk of tooth decay, gum disease and tooth loss can be reduced with good oral hygiene, a low-sugar and low-acid diet, and regular visits to the dentist every 6 monthly.
